About

Microsoft Excel and Sage 200 are two of the leading business software brands in the UK and Ireland. Whereas both products have a similar target audience they deliver on quite different objectives. Indeed, it can be easily argued that the both products core objectives complement one another.

Excel provides flexible, easy to use data entry with graphical, quick to follow data presentation. Sage provides compliance with business rules and accounting principles along with secure, single, reliable data storage. Combining the best of both brands can and is delivering “mind-blowing” business solutions.

MS Excel has been setting the standard for graphical, interactive data presentation since the late 1990s. When it comes to data entry Excel is a bench mark by which all other business software is measured. Experienced consultants have used Excel to report on Sage data since before the turn of the century. I recall building Excel Pivot Tables in the late 90s to provide interactive essential analytics of Sage data. At the time it was quite revolutionary. Being able to summarise, drill down and pivot data allowed on the spot data interrogation, offering management the ability to glean Business insights and identify trends. In 2015 Sage released a suite of Excel reports specifically designed to improve data presentation. Sage Excel Reporting is based around Pivot tables and brings such benefits main stream.

Codis Excelerator has been working with Excel and Sage 1000 product range since 2005. Excelerator is a Microsoft Excel add-in that allows you to use Excel to do your Sage data entry. Anything you can do from your standard Sage screens can be done from Excel using Excelerator. In 2016 Sage signed an agreement with Codis to market and sell the Excelerator for Sage 200 suite of products.

I have been working with Codis since 2013, and I have been given the enviable task of presenting Excelerator to the wider Sage 200 community. The job is exciting and rewarding. Working with many experienced consultants from all of the major Sage 200 Business Partners, I enjoy watching as their reservations fall away and the excitement builds when they begin to realise the potential of Excelerator for Sage 200.

This purpose of this website is to share my knowledge of Sage and Excel. I intend to present many real time solutions for both presenting and capturing data. I hope you enjoy the content.
